The Master of all Traits

It is said that a man is judged by the content of his character, if so then Pawan Sharma may very well be more man than any other. The Westin Mumbai Garden City, a five star deluxe hotel which is a haven for our guests is kept that way in the safe hands of Mr Pawan Sharma, Director of Security. He has spent a lot of time in different parts of India before graduating from the University of Calcutta. At the young age of 20, Pawan decided to take up karate, and in 1995 became National Champion. He possesses a black belt in Karate and has competed in highly prestigious competitions such as the Asian tournament, held in Nepal and World Tournament, held in Japan. Karate truly is his passion. Pawan brings with him great knowledge and experience to The Westin Mumbai Garden City from his days of being in charge of security at The Taj President and The Four Seasons Hotel. It would be hard to sum him up in a couple of words but he is a truly compassionate, dedicated and talented all-rounder. He has a great sense of humor and his will power is unmatchable.

A sneak peek into the one on one ‘rapid fire round’ with our Director of Security, Pawan Sharma offering an insight into his experiences and path to success:

What do you enjoy doing in your leisure time?

Music- playing the flute, guitar, keyboard and Harmonica. As well as Calligraphy, working out, practicing martial arts, tai-chi and yoga.

What are your pet peeves?

Does not like dishonesty. He deeply values integrity and loyalty.

What inspires you?

The small things in life, compassion.

One thing you wish to change?

Reconstructing and fixing my torn ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) in my leg through surgery.

One self defense tip?

For women – when in trouble use your voice and scream, never be quiet. Also it would be helpful to carry pepper spray.

Words of wisdom?
