City Glitterati wine and dine in style at The Westin Mumbai Garden City!

17th September saw city’s renowned wine appreciators make head-way to The Westin Mumbai Garden City, as the occasion served a stylish and refined Ruffino Degustation Dinner by Sula
Vineyards.

The evening started with Jake Jacob Vice President Asia of Constellation Brands introducing the delectable Ruffino Wines from the first finest wineries in Tuscany. The beverage for elite was carefully paired with Modern Indian Progressive menu designed by Executive Chef Ajay Chopra. Whilst Area General Manager, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Mr Anuraag Bhatnagar played perfect host as he welcomed Cecilia Oldne, Global Brand Ambassador and Deepak Bhatnagar, President – Sales and Marketing from Sula. In attendance at this social-do were successful wine educator and consultant -Sonal Holland and celebrated bartender -Shatbi Basu enjoying the exceptional pairing of Indian cuisine with the delicate and expressive wines of Ruffino, Chianti, Italy.

On an engaging tête-à-tête with Jake Jacob some interesting facts on Ruffino brand were divulged such as – the wine is a true expression of the land and people immersed in Tuscan tradition. Today the House of Ruffino is a world-renowned ambassador of Chianti Classico as well as other wines of extraordinary class and personality. Walk down the historical facts highlights Ruffino for its long association with prominent people like composer Giuseppe Verdi and the Duke of Aosta, a member of Italy’s royal family and dating the royal alliance back as far as 1890 when Ruffino was appointed official wine to the royal Italian court!


Speaking on the occasion Area General Manager Mr. Anuraag Bhatnagar a leading industry stalwart said “There are two major ways to pair food and wine.  You can either match the pair by similar tastes, as we like to say or compare the flavors. As menu for today’s wine dinner was crafted by our expert Chefs; special care has been taken in pairing food with uncomplicated and progressive flavors of Ruffino. This program gives us the edge of understanding the ever versatile customer palate for beverage and caters to good food complementing the wines.”
