The Westin Mumbai Garden City in association with Jalota Welfare Foundation celebrated ‘Ghazal Day’ on 8th February 2015 in remembrance of music maestro Shri. Jagjit Singh.  The legacy of Jagjit Singh was relived with a live concert of soulful performances by many renowned singers at our lush gardens Westin Woods.

All the guests were moved by the enchanting ghazals which were beautifully sung by famous singers Talat Aziz , Anup Jalota, Runa Rizvi Sivamani  and Surinder Khan. This musical evening also witnessed a scintillating surprise by India's best percussionist Sivamani on the stage. The famed Indian musician’s special tribute to Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh was well appreciated by all the music and ghazal enthusiasts in the picturesque Westin Woods.  After the musical recital AGM Mr Anuraag Bhatnagar, Mayor of Mumbai Snehal Ambekar, Organizer of Ghazal Day Mr. Harpreet Singh Banga along with all the singers and musicians cut a delectable cake to celebrate Shri Jagjit Singh birth anniversary.

Bringing in the Festive Season with Style & Fun at The Westin Mumbai Garden City!

Sweet November was a perfect celebration to welcome the most joyous time of the year. On 1st November The Westin Mumbai Garden City in association with premier Wines Grover Zampa hosted an elated afternoon exclusively for our guests. This merry afternoon was filled with fun and fervour as guests enjoyed a carnival of Cake Mixing, Grape Stomping & Wine Tasting in the lush Westin Woods.

Executive Chef Rahul Dhavale commenced the Cake Mixing Ceremony by unveiling the cake mixing tray filled with dry fruits, raisins, black currants, candied peel, candied cherries, tutti frutti etc and of course the all important spirits wine, rum, beer and whiskey etc to soak the fruits with. Everyone joined the Chef’s in this fun custom of mixing the fruits with the aromatic spirits. This irresistible cake mix will be soaked in the spirits until Christmas, which will be then later made into traditional Christmas cakes and will be ready for sale.

Westin Woods was turned into mini Italy as all the guests came together in full gusto to participate in the traditional method of wine making Grape Stomping. Celebrity Chef Ajay Chopra caught everyone’s attention with an interactive Cooking Session as he cooked up a storm for all. Further on the guests were enthralled by the delectable wines during the Wine Tasting Session.The melodious tunes by live band Vernon complimented the pleasant Saturday afternoon as the delicious delicacies & wine was devoured by all as they strolled from one food cabana to another and enjoyed each other’s company.

The Westin Mumbai Garden City organizes 5 Km Charity Run for Assisi Bhavan ‘Home for Old’

The Westin Mumbai Garden City as a part of its care for community drive organized a 5 Kms charity run with its business partners and associates to create awareness and raise funds for local old aged home Assisi Bhavan. This mass well-being mobilization was identified by the Starwood Hotels & Resorts; 12th October 2014 witnessed hotels in different cities and resort destinations across Asia Pacific organize Charity run for fund raising.


The Westin Mumbai Garden City joined this ‘Do Good’ exercise by organizing a 5K Charity Run in Goregaon to raise funds for Assisi Bhavan - Home for Aged. The hotel recognizing vitality of its local community invited its associates and their families, guests & patrons along with business partners to participate in project ‘Pledge to Spread Warmth’.  The movement aimed to create awareness on the needs and requirements of the senior members at the Old-age home.





This Charity run was a huge success with a participation number up-to 160 runners and The Westin Mumbai Garden City raising INR 1,31,000 for Assisi Bhavan. While the cheering participants proudly livened up the marathon with their great enthusiasm and energy, tremendous love and support for the cause was showcased when the hotel announced the donations collected and presented it to the Assisi Bhavan representative.

The funds raised through this Charity Drive was donated to Assisi Bhavan in Goregaon East (‘home for aged’ managed by St. Joseph Convent housing 72 elderly residents). Funds will be used for utility needs such as personal hygiene, facility maintenance, medical attention, dietary requirement and linen & clothing for the senior residents.

City Glitterati wine and dine in style at The Westin Mumbai Garden City!

17th September saw city’s renowned wine appreciators make head-way to The Westin Mumbai Garden City, as the occasion served a stylish and refined Ruffino Degustation Dinner by Sula
Vineyards.

The evening started with Jake Jacob Vice President Asia of Constellation Brands introducing the delectable Ruffino Wines from the first finest wineries in Tuscany. The beverage for elite was carefully paired with Modern Indian Progressive menu designed by Executive Chef Ajay Chopra. Whilst Area General Manager, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Mr Anuraag Bhatnagar played perfect host as he welcomed Cecilia Oldne, Global Brand Ambassador and Deepak Bhatnagar, President – Sales and Marketing from Sula. In attendance at this social-do were successful wine educator and consultant -Sonal Holland and celebrated bartender -Shatbi Basu enjoying the exceptional pairing of Indian cuisine with the delicate and expressive wines of Ruffino, Chianti, Italy.

On an engaging tête-à-tête with Jake Jacob some interesting facts on Ruffino brand were divulged such as – the wine is a true expression of the land and people immersed in Tuscan tradition.
