Mumbai Farmers' Market by Karen Anand is back at The Westin Mumbai Garden City!!

After almost 30 successful Farmers’ Markets across the country, with 80 local restaurants, dozens of avid home bakers and amateur chefs, wineries, organic produce and 100,000+ visitors, Karen Anand and her team are back with the Mumbai Farmers' Market at the beautiful Westin Woods at The Westin Mumbai Garden City in Goregaon on a bright Sunday 1st November 2015.

In the age of home gourmets, culinary adventures and a return to natural foods, finally a lifestyle market which is a source of exceptional Indian produce. The city’s foodies congregate to explore curated culinary experiences including cookery demonstrations by Master Chefs and our very own Executive Chef Rahul Dhavale, meet a fresh and novel array of exhibitors from across the country and diverse spaces such as horticulture, kitchenware, artisanal cheese, home chefs, masalas, boutique food manufacturers, vegetable and fruit farmers and start up vendors who will come together to offer a super gourmet shopping experience.

At this Mumbai Farmers’ Market, look out for new restaurants like The Stick House, Pak a pav - kebabs in a pav, Junos pizza and Desi Deli with different types of hotdogs with an Indian twist. Executive Chef Rahul Dhavale and his talented team from The Westin Mumbai Garden City is all set to tempt you all with a variety of delicious sliders, Barbeque and tempting gelatoes.  Pop-ups by Guppy at Olive Bistro and Punjab Grill.


Exhibitors include our regulars - Raw Pressery and Jus Devine with healthy juices, Green Tokri from Pune for fruit and veggies, Yubbie packaged coconut water and Pride of Cows for unadulterated cow milk.  Flavoured teas and tea infusions by Taatva, Chado tea, Exalte teas and Brewlette; Bon Homia for coffee capsules and Nespresso like coffee machines. Kale chips by The Green Snack Co, raw banana flour by Kadhali, honey by Sanjeevani organics.


New to the market is Stahl India with their International looking brushed steel quality cookware. Your natural bath and body care needs will be fulfilled by Waterline Cosmetics, Shuddhi Therapy, Bliscent and new comers Ursha Innovations - the Kingfisher Bar and a foodie treasure hunt by Food Bloggers Association of India (FBAI)

City Glitterati wine and dine in style at The Westin Mumbai Garden City!

17th September saw city’s renowned wine appreciators make head-way to The Westin Mumbai Garden City, as the occasion served a stylish and refined Ruffino Degustation Dinner by Sula
Vineyards.

The evening started with Jake Jacob Vice President Asia of Constellation Brands introducing the delectable Ruffino Wines from the first finest wineries in Tuscany. The beverage for elite was carefully paired with Modern Indian Progressive menu designed by Executive Chef Ajay Chopra. Whilst Area General Manager, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Mr Anuraag Bhatnagar played perfect host as he welcomed Cecilia Oldne, Global Brand Ambassador and Deepak Bhatnagar, President – Sales and Marketing from Sula. In attendance at this social-do were successful wine educator and consultant -Sonal Holland and celebrated bartender -Shatbi Basu enjoying the exceptional pairing of Indian cuisine with the delicate and expressive wines of Ruffino, Chianti, Italy.

On an engaging tête-à-tête with Jake Jacob some interesting facts on Ruffino brand were divulged such as – the wine is a true expression of the land and people immersed in Tuscan tradition. Today the House of Ruffino is a world-renowned ambassador of Chianti Classico as well as other wines of extraordinary class and personality. Walk down the historical facts highlights Ruffino for its long association with prominent people like composer Giuseppe Verdi and the Duke of Aosta, a member of Italy’s royal family and dating the royal alliance back as far as 1890 when Ruffino was appointed official wine to the royal Italian court!


Speaking on the occasion Area General Manager Mr. Anuraag Bhatnagar a leading industry stalwart said “There are two major ways to pair food and wine.  You can either match the pair by similar tastes, as we like to say or compare the flavors. As menu for today’s wine dinner was crafted by our expert Chefs; special care has been taken in pairing food with uncomplicated and progressive flavors of Ruffino. At The Westin Mumbai Garden City we have special programs sculpted for wine connoisseur “Wines of World”. This program gives us the edge of understanding the ever versatile customer palate for beverage and caters to good food complementing the wines.”

After six successful Farmers’ Market in Pune that saw more than 15 topnotch restaurants, world-class chefs, dozens of avid home bakers and amateur chefs, wineries and 25,000+ visitors, Karen Anand and her team brings the unique experience to Mumbai for the first time on December 1 exclusively at The Westin Mumbai Garden City.

The Mumbai Farmers’ Market (MFM) expects to see the city’s food & drink enthusiasts congregate at this innovative platform to explore curated culinary experiences and demonstrations, meet a fresh and novel array of exhibitors who will showcase their artisanal produce and grab the opportunity to enjoy the city’s favourite restaurants in an ‘out-of-restaurant’ experience. The Westin Mumbai Garden City brings Mumbai’s first whole foods and lifestyle market - a source of exceptional Indian and international produce.

MFM has been organized on a Sunday because there is something on offer for everyone: adults and kids can enjoy their day tasting the delicious food from some of the best restaurants in the city; an opportunity to buy outstanding gourmet produce; adults can spend the day sipping on wines while the kids are busy channelizing all their energy and curiosity in the fun, most creative environment.
